UDM to Award $20,000 and $10,000 Catholic Education University Grants to Catholic School Graduates

SOUTHFIELD, MI – University of Detroit Mercy will become the 15th campus member of the longstanding private college collaborative, Michigan Colleges Alliance (MCA). Founded in 1949, MCA is recognized nationally for its collective programming to support Michigan independent higher education in areas such as student access, enrollment, scholarships and career opportunities including partnerships with key employers across the state. As a group, the 15 college and university members represent more than 40,000 students, collectively the state’s “third largest university”.

2014 Commencement Ceremonies set for May 9 & 10

University of Detroit Mercy will hold its annual commencement ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students on Saturday, May 10, at 1:30 p.m. in Calihan Hall on the McNichols Campus.

The day before, on Friday, May 9, the UDM School of Dentistry will hold commencement at 9:30 a.m., and the School of Law will hold commencement at 5 p.m. Both ceremonies will also take place at Calihan Hall. In total, the University will graduate more than 1,500 students during the three commencement ceremonies.

Scholarship Opportunity

It is worth approximately $3,000 per year, renewable each year of the 5-year Architecture program. The name is in honor of our benefactor, Mr. Warren L. Loranger who donated the funds, and the nautilus shell is the symbol of the School or Architecture.

UDM Accepted Students Day is a Success

Nearly 500 people joined University faculty, staff, students and alumni on Saturday, March 29 for Accepted Students Day on the University’s McNichols campus. Almost 200 high school students joined their parents and families for a day exploring campus life, Student Fitness Center activities and nearly every academic building, learning about the University’s strong academic experiences and individual attention at UDM.
