Jump-start your career.

You'll gain real-world, hands-on experience with two semesters of paid work through cooperative education assignments. UDM's School of Architecture was one of the first three programs in the nation to require two semesters of work in an architecture firm as one of its degree requirements,and these co-op assignments often lead to permanent positions with co-op employers upon graduation. Our School of Architecture has its own in-house architectural firm, which works with our students through its direct integration of practice and education. The Detroit Collaborative Design Center provides full architectural and planning services to non-profit community organizations and is recognized worldwide for its award–winning design work. You can choose from study abroad programs in Italy and Poland and you will also work alongside Polish and Canadian students studying here in Detroit to gain an international perspective that will prepare you to compete in the increasingly global profession of architecture. Career opportunities.

Check this out - its a great time to go into the profession.  Most of our graduates go on to become licensed architects working in dynamic firms around the country and the world, or starting their own private practice.
